John is a researcher within the Welsh Government, under the Employment and Economic Activity ADR Wales research theme. He currently leads on the project to deposit the Longitudinal Educational Outcomes (LEO) dataset for Wales into the ONS’ Secure Research Service. Previously, John has conducted research alongside colleagues at WISERD into the effects of migration and Welsh language fluency upon the graduate outcomes of Welsh-domiciled learners.
John holds a PhD in Economics from Cardiff University, in which he examined the wellbeing effects of disability onset upon different sectors of society. He is also an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and has taught labour economics, microeconomics and econometrics.
